A 4' x 4' collage on board, made by children at Roughton Primary School, Norfolk.
Inspired by Lowry (part of the 'Take one artist' scheme of study), all the Yr 5 & 6 children took part in collaging figures of various sizes from assembled, torn-paper parts.
Children were then engaged in arranging the picture and layering tissue paper 'fog' over the buildings and figures to enhance the mood and perspective.
This method worked well as a collaborative event, and gave children confidence in tackling elements of observational character and figure study.
